Areas of Professional Interest

Emily is passionate about helping people find the freedom to live the life they were created to live, restore hope in their relationships and find balance in their daily lives. Emily has been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a form of psychotherapy that focuses on healing from trauma. She is also trained in utilizing other research-based methods for treating individuals, children, married couples, and families.

Before pursuing a career in counseling, Emily served in campus ministry at five different colleges across four states. Most recently, she served as the Compassion Ministries Director for the Etowah Baptist Association where she helped churches connect to community needs. It was during this time that Emily began pursuing counseling as a way to restore hope for God’s people.

Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Mississippi College, a master’s degree in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a master’s degree in Social Work from Jacksonville State University.  While pursuing her master’s in Social Work, she worked as an intern with the Department of Human Resources Children’s and Family Services and the Etowah County Board of Education Refocus Center.

Emily and her husband, Andrew, live in Rainbow City with their two small children. They work together leading various ministries at their church in Southside. As a family, they enjoy lots of playing chase, jumping in the water sprinkler, swimming, and playing Barbies and trains. They also enjoy being outside and watching movies.

“My desire for our clients at Noonday is for them to develop the emotional skills they need to feel empowered to be who God designed them to be.”
