Areas of Professional Interest
Dr. Jarrod Warren is a board-certified family medicine physician with broad clinical interests spanning hospital medicine, urgent care, hospice and palliative care, and comprehensive primary care. His professional focus includes patient-centered, evidence-based medicine across the lifespan, with additional expertise in upper and lower diagnostic endoscopy, cardiac stress testing, and sports medicine. He has a particular interest in musculoskeletal medicine, including preliminary training in musculoskeletal ultrasound, and values the integration of orthopedic principles into primary care practice and medical education.
Experience and Education
Dr. Warren has served as a Hospitalist at Gadsden Regional Medical Center since 2010 and has held leadership roles as Medical Director of the Hospitalist Group and Chief of Family Medicine since 2013. He is also the Hospice Medical Director for Amedisys Hospice of Gadsden, a role he has held since 2010, providing clinical oversight and compassionate leadership in end-of-life care. His earlier clinical experience includes family practice and urgent care positions at multiple sites across Alabama, as well as medical and psychiatric call coverage and service as Moonlighting Coordinator at Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
He completed his Family Medicine Residency at the Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program (2006–2009), where he held several leadership roles and contributed to medical education with a focus on musculoskeletal and orthopedic training in family medicine. Dr. Warren earned his MD from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 2006, holds an MA in Marketing and a BS in Biology (cum laude) from the University of Alabama, and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Personal
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Warren is a graduate of Shades Valley High School and the Jefferson County International Baccalaureate program. He is married with two children. Outside of medicine, Dr. Warren has a longstanding interest in athletics and fitness; during his undergraduate years, he was a member of the University of Alabama football team.
