Areas of Interest:

With a heart for helping others, Donette is passionate about supporting children, teens, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges—whether social, emotional, or spiritual. Her goal is to provide a safe, Christ-centered space where healing can begin, and where evidence-based strategies empower clients to grow and thrive.

Experience:

Donette brings over 35 years of experience in education, including 20 years as a dedicated school counselor. During that time, she was honored to receive the American School Counselor Association Model Program of Designation Award. Her work has often incorporated art and play therapy to help students develop strong emotional, social, and behavioral skills. She has witnessed firsthand the incredible resilience of individuals who, even through trauma, discover their strength and their ability to make a meaningful impact on the world.

Education & Training:

She holds an Educational Specialist (EdS) degree in Counseling from Jacksonville State University and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is currently completing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to better support clients dealing with trauma.

Personal Life:

She has been married to her best friend, Chris, for 30 years. They are blessed with a daughter and son-in-law who bring them great joy. She enjoys long walks, attending church, spending time with loved ones, and diving into home DIY projects whenever she can.

“It is a sacred privilege to walk alongside individuals in their most difficult moments. My hope is to help each person I work with find peace, healing, and lasting hope—the kind that only God can give.”
