Areas of Professional Interest

As a nurse practitioner, Lydia is committed to providing holistic, patient-centered mental health care that integrates biological, psychological, and lifestyle-based approaches. She strives to build strong therapeutic relationships that empower individuals to take an active role in their healing. With a strong background in trauma-informed work such as yoga, Pilates, mindfulness practices, and fitness coaching, Lydia emphasizes whole-body wellness and the mind-body connection in her work. In addition to intentional medication management, her clinical interests include trauma-informed care, functional psychiatry, and evidence-based psychotherapeutic modalities that support long-term emotional, physical, and psychological well-being.

Experience

At Noonday Therapeutic Center, Lydia has served as the Director of Wellness and Microcurrent since 2022, where she conducts QEEG brain mapping and provides both traditional and microcurrent neurofeedback. Previously, she worked as a psychiatric nurse at Mountain View Hospital, providing care for child and adolescent populations in an inpatient setting. Her background also includes pediatric cardiovascular intensive care at Children’s of Alabama, same-day surgery at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, and 5 years working with children at Big Oak Boys’ Ranch.

Lydia has experience training in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, with practicum work in adult and geriatric psychiatry as well as outpatient behavioral health. She is participating in a specialized mentorship with Dr. Lindsay Hill involving the implementation of advanced medication management strategies, psychopharmacology, and brief psychotherapy. She is also completing the Psychiatry Redefined Fellowship with Dr. James Greenblatt.

Lydia earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of North Alabama. She completed her RN-BSN through Jacksonville State University in 2023 and began her nursing career in 2012 after receiving her Associate Degree in Nursing from Gadsden State Community College.

She maintains certifications with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Basic Life Support (BLS), IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback, and is SANE-trained as a forensic nurse examiner (sexual assault nurse examiner). She is licensed as an advanced practice nurse practitioner through the state of Alabama.

Personal

Lydia developed a love for science and whole brain health as a teenager after her sister’s traumatic brain injury and continues to pursue learning about and seeking knowledge in this area. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, being involved in the local church, cooking and eating quality food, tending to her garden, and experiencing nature through hiking, trail running, and outdoor adventures. She also loves traveling to new places, which further fuels her curiosity and appreciation for human connection and wellness.

“My work allows me to integrate evidence-based care with compassion and faith, recognizing that lasting change takes time, patience, and support. It is a privilege to support others as they pursue healing and wholeness.”
